The Condair DC floor-standing dehumidifiers are designed for commercial, industrial and pool applications where reliable humidity control is required. Typical applications include swimming pools, warehouses, storage rooms, archives, technical rooms, workshops and production areas, where excess humidity can affect product quality, damage goods, increase corrosion risk or impact occupant comfort.

By maintaining optimal humidity levels, the units help prevent condensation on windows and other surfaces, protect buildings and equipment, support operational reliability and create healthy indoor environments. Flexible duct connection options provide maximum installation versatility. Units are supplied with a vertical dry air outlet as standard, which can be reconfigured on site to a left-hand or right-hand outlet. Based on the condensation dehumidification principle, the units are particularly suitable for applications with moderate to high temperatures and humidity levels, typically down to around 45% RH.

What dehumidification capacities are available in the DC floor-standing series?

The DC series is designed to cover a wide range of dehumidification requirements. Current models provide capacities from 2.36 to 8.29 kg/h at 30 °C and 80% RH, equivalent to approximately 57 to 199 l/24h. At 20 °C and 60% RH, the units achieve capacities from 1.06 to 3.87 kg/h, providing effective humidity control for commercial, industrial and pool applications with varying moisture loads.

Airflow rates from 500 to 1,800 m³/h enable effective air circulation and moisture removal, while available external static pressures of up to 300 Pa support ducted installations. All models operate within an ambient range of 5 to 35 °C and 40 to 99% RH. Integrated hot gas defrost ensures reliable performance at lower operating temperatures.

What standard features and optional accessories are available for the Condair DC series?

Standard features include high-efficiency EC centrifugal fans, hot gas defrost for effective operation at lower ambient temperatures, corrosion-resistant coated heat exchangers, thermostatic expansion valves, washable ISO Coarse 30% (G2) air filters with AISI 304 stainless steel frame and a built-in PLC with Modbus communication for building management system integration.

For swimming pool applications, a range of optional accessories is available to enhance comfort and energy efficiency. These include hot water or electric heaters, modulating 3-way valves for hot water coil temperature control, partial heat recovery for pool water heating, built-in humidity sensor, external humidistats, remote control panels and a condensate pump. Rubber vibration dampers and swivel castors are also available to support installation flexibility.

For fully ducted applications with increased air quality requirements, an ISO ePM10 50% (M5) filter with frame and differential pressure filter monitoring is available.

Cheshire Fire & Rescue Services Training Centre

Firefighters at the training centre of the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services at Winsford are benefiting from a Condair DC-W dehumidifier to dry out their protective kit at the end of each wet training exercise. Equipment ensuring the strict control of moisture in a drying room is essential to save firefighters' gear from the effects of water damage after a call-out or a training exercise. It's vital that they have access to a drying facility to prevent extensive damage and potentially significant replacement costs for the fire service. Winsford's fire training centre offers the most up-to-date technology to ensure the best possible training for existing firefighters and new recruits, serving a large area of the North West Fire Services. After training the firefighters return to their allocated bases from where they operate a shift system of nine firefighters and officers crewing a fire engine, major rescue unit and incident response unit 24/7. The training centre operates Monday to Friday with high numbers of staff and trainees, and potentially a lot of clothing that needs drying out on a daily basis, so reliability is essential.

Nordsee One Offshore Wind Farm

The Nordsee One offshore wind farm is located about 35 kilometers north of the island of Juist in the southern North Sea and has a total area of 41 km2. Nordsee One went into operation in December 2017 and has been supplying green electricity ever since.54 wind turbines with a rotor diameter of 126 meters and a rated output of 6.15 MW each will be used. The wind turbine starts at wind speeds from 3.5 m/s and reaches its maximum output at about 12 m/s.In order for the many thousands of wind turbines operated in the North Sea and Baltic Sea to function safely in the long term, a maximum air humidity must not be exceeded in their operating rooms.To ensure this, 54 Condair DC seawater-proof dehumidification systems were used at Nordsee One.

CH4 Global

CH4 Global uses aquaponic growing methods in their facility in the far south of SA (Arno Bay) to grow Asparagopsis seaweed. This seaweed is then used as part of a unique animal feed supplement to significantly reduce the amount of methane gas that enters the atmosphere from livestock. The combination of artificial lighting and the aquaponic reservoirs create a lot of water vapor to be released into the air. This means the facility reaches very high humidity levels which need to be controlled. The artificial lighting puts off a heat load that is already handled by current HVAC. To ensure we didn't add to this heat load we needed to ensure a dehumidifier was to not add unnecessary heat gains. Condair used its DC-N dehumidifier range for this application. These units fit the need of the customer as they have a remote condenser. This allows the supply air temperature to remain neutral. 2 units were supplied for production areas - DC270-N and DC350-N. These units will remove on average 600L per day for the customer.
